If you'd like to learn to wheel throw but can't commit to an 8 week course then this mini wheel throwing course is for you!
Perfect for complete beginners or those returning to pottery after a break, this course is designed to build confidence and skills from the ground up.
Over the two session course, you’ll learn essential techniques like clay preparation, centring on the wheel, throwing a particular shape depending on the course (see below) plus turning and trimming, and adding handles.
Each piece you create will be fired and ready for you to collect within a month after the course end date, giving you lasting mementos of your pottery journey or as unique gifts made by your own hand.

- Course duration: 2 sessions over 2 consecutive Sundays, 2 hours per session
- From Age 15+
- Number of participants: maximum 8
- Session cost: £140 per person
- Includes: X2 2-hour classes, use of electric potter's wheel, clay, tools, apron, refreshments (water, tea, coffee, biscuits), 3 pieces of pottery fired and glazed for collection.
- Excludes: Any additional pieces glazing, firing at £5 per piece. Costs for shipping if needed and unable to collect.
If you can't make one of the dates, don't worry just let us know the date and you can do a catch up session.
Session plan:
Tuesdays 12th & 19th May, 7-9pm - Throwing and turning large undulating dish
Tuesdays 26th May & 2nd June, 7-9pm - Throwing and turning a Matcha set
Tuesdays 16th & 23rd June, 7-9pm - Throwing and turning a lidded pot
Sundays 12th & 19th July, 10am-12noon - Throwing a mug and turning + handling
Sundays 13th & 20th Sept, 10am-12noon - Throwing a chip and dip bowl, turning and attaching.
